Today, December 15, the Supreme Court of Berlin sentenced Russian Vadim Sokolov (also known as Krasikov) to life in prison. According to the court's version, the convict killed Khangoshvili, who was considered a terrorist in Russia, on the instructions of the Russian authorities. After the murder of Khangoshvili in 2019, two employees of the Russian embassy were expelled from Germany. The German side then considered that Russia had provided "insufficient assistance" in the investigation of the murder. Moscow responded in a mirror-like manner and expelled two employees of the FRG embassy.
