The film in the Ossetian language was not included in the shortlist of the Oscar film Award

 The film "Unclenching my Fists" by Kira Kovalenko was not included in the shortlist of films competing for the Oscar in the nomination "Best Foreign Language Film". The information appeared on the official website of the film awards.

The list published by the American Film Academy includes 15 films. There were paintings from Austria, Belgium, Bhutan, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Mexico, Norway, Panama and Spain.

The shortlist of nominees for the award in the category "Best Animated Short Film" included the Russian cartoon "Boxball" directed by Anton Dyakov. It shows the love story of boxer Eugene and ballerina Olga.

The tape "Unclenching my fists" became the second work of Kira Kovalenko, a student of Alexander Sokurov. The film was shot in North Ossetia. According to the director, most of the roles in it are performed by non-professional actors.

The action of the picture takes place in the town of Mizur, to which a family of a father and three children moves after tragic events. A man brings up his sons and daughter in strictness, "soul" his daughter with his love. Because of this, the girl plans to run away from home.
