Putin signed the law on public regional power

MOSCOW, Dec 21 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a federal law on the organization of public power in the constituent entities of Russia. The document, in particular, prohibits the heads of regions to be called presidents and allows them to be elected for more than two consecutive terms.
The relevant federal law is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
This document is aimed at implementing the provisions of the Constitution on a unified system of public power and improving the organization of public power in the regions.

According to the law, the head of the region can be removed from office by the President of the Russian Federation in connection with the loss of trust or in connection with the expression of distrust by the local legislative assembly. It is fixed that the President of the Russian Federation can terminate the powers of the heads of regions on any grounds.
Previously, according to the legislation, the head of the region could not be elected to the post of the highest official of the subject of the Russian Federation for more than two consecutive terms. The new law excludes this norm.
The document also provides that the number of terms of governors in power will be determined by the legislative assemblies of the regions. In addition, regional parliaments get the opportunity to work remotely.
The law preserves the prohibition on the use of the word "president" in the title of the position of the head of the subject of the federation.
